Ritz Crackers and Nascar

by Rachel on February 1st, 2008

Ritz Crackers are the ‘official crackers of NASCAR’ and are running a national competition over the next 8 months, where 5 people get a trip to Sprint Cup Series Championship weekend and one gets to win a lovely new Mustang. I’d link to the site, but I’ve got no idea where the sweeps will be running, it could be at the Ritz Open For Fun, or it could be at the Nabisco Promotions page. The press release I got sent tells me a lot about the competition but not really the key points, like where to enter. (or if it does, it’s not clear to me and I can’t find it on the sites I looked at)

From the release, I can see that this is going to be a big campaign for the cracker company, with print, radio, on-pack, in-store, TV, online ads plus email support from Ritz and their partners, Ford Racing. This is an all out push for the brand over the year with many parts, that looks like it could be fun for the winners

If I’m not too sure about the premise of this sweeps, it has lead me to take a look at the Ritz and Nabisco sites. They use a lot of games/timewasters as partof their offering, with Soduko, memory games, Connect 4 etc, so it’s a useful site to have book marked when you want to play. None of them are tied into a brand story in any way, they are just an way of Ritz proclaiming they are open for fun.
