Orange Balloon Race
Poke brings you their latest for Orange, which I love. Iain describes the idea, the Orange Balloon Race which can be found at playballoonacy.com. In essence, here’s what happens:
- they’re ’setting off’ balloons that will travel over the web. The one that goes the furthest wins a prize of 20k GBP. The mechanics look interesting, as you get to control your balloon across the web. It’s a race over a week, meaning you have to keep participating to drive your balloon along the way
- There’s also lots of extra goodies they’re promising along the way, with the chance to gain bonuses and such like.
- You have to go to the site sign up and create your balloon to take part - get there early! Actually, I’m pretty sure that as long as it’s before the start date, it does not matter when you get there. I chose the dolphin and called him Tanis if you’re looking for it.
- You can be part of the race course, by signing your site up. This one is a member, at least this page is (I can’t put the script on the main page of the site)
A great idea here, it’s fun, interactive and participatory. It’s got the word of mouth vibe as by getting your friends involved helps your chances. It’s also set up so it’s not a one off exposure, to win you have to keep interacting over a week. It starts June 22, so go and join.
