Nike and Kobe Bryant

My friend Ben from New York has been working in China for the past few months and sent me details of what he’s been up to.

Working with Wieden Kennedy Shanghai and Nike, he’s been on the team putting together a 6-part Chinese TV series called “Kobe Mentu”. The first show aired today and is on all week; it’s a reality TV shoe/online campaign where first of all 24 kids get selected out of 400 applicants to train with NBA star Kobe Bryant, to be his ‘mentu’, that is ‘disciples’. Sixteen out of the final 24 eventually get to play a championship game in Beijing. There’s also a Kobe Mentu site, combined with offline work, to bring together young basketball players to play games in various cities across the country. Ben’s been involved in the planning for this bit, so I know it’s going to be good!

    Hello. I have no opinion but i do have an idea. Yes and idea just like the rest of the world does everyday about certain things or certain people. well i have one for kobe. it can help his image much so. and make lots and lots of money for me and who ever else is involved. Im leaving this message because i have no idea how to contact kobe or his people to help manage his image. Please contact me. i left my email above. maybe u can help me.
