Louis Vitton and MyFilms
A couple of new ‘virals’ going round this week.
There’s a second installment from Louis Vuitton with their Journeys. Following on from Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi around New York, now we have Catherine Deneuve taking us around Paris. Pretty website, great photos but not really feeling this one. Obviously an expensive site but not sure why they are doing it. Any other opinion?
UK Based, Love films, want to share your choices with your friends and get recommendations. If you are not doing that already on your local Facebook app or movie provider then head over to myfilms.com where they are running a launch competition. Complete the quiz and get the chance to win a trip to a UK film premiere. What’s most interesting for me in this site is the list of backers. It’s also partnered up with the main cinema advertisers.
myfilms is supported by the UK Film Council and funded through the National Lottery and boasts partners such as LoveFilm.com and Sky Movies,
Not sure about this at the moment, it seems very similar to many other apps out there but it has a chance through being UK based and backed. It is jumping on the web2.0 band-wagon, as you can see from the quote about the service.
With all the benefits of web2.0, users can also rate films and exchange views on films with other users as well as set up their own group of film friends and connect to social networks and plug-ins, so they can share wish lists, get matches of films they all want to see, share views on films seen and plan trips to the cinema together.
They appear to have a lot of the right bits, lets hope they can move on beyond the launch period and blitz to get members to actually making it a worthwhile community to share your passion for films.
