Iceland Socks
This is just joyfully silly. Promoting Iceland, with Iceland Socks you choose your scenes, add your subtitles and send to a friend. This app has the attraction of silliness, in that the burbles make you laugh. My only issue is the barrier of having to provide subtitles- you want o be funny and that can prevent people from using it, a behavioural challenge that needs to be overcome, perhaps by providing examples.

Remarkably similar to a concept that the creative team from BBDO came up with for a pitch on the German Railway (Deutsche Bahn) I worked on back in 2002

Did it ever get used? I can see this being recycled from somewhere?

Sadly no but it was strategically spot on to explain a new tarrif system. The DB were to conservative to use it!

Thanks for the mention, Rachel, and your great comments! I think “joyfully silly” just about describes what we were going for :)
We’ve thought about the “providing examples” thing and it is something we have on our list of “possibly/maybe” - it is interesting to see you mention it here.
And who doesn’t love sock puppets?
