Geico Caveman Crib

I saw this little ad on Facebook the other day:

which led me to the Caveman’s crib, an interactive site set before and after the party, the one that appears in the current TV ads.

Choose your day and go inside and then just click around. Overt branding is minimal - it’s there on the TVs -and there is plenty to play with across the apartments. You can’t tell from the previews, but this may also be one of the sets of the new TV series.

I like how everything on this comes together, pushing the message about the show and the brand - and entertains at the same time. A good example of cross-media messaging

    I’ve seen the ads for this new ABC Caveman series and at first I was thinking….”its that insurance ad again”. I had to do a double take to realize its going to be a series. That’s some heavy duty marketing and I’ll probably watch it :-)

    I just can’t imagine this lasting more than a month. I personally find the commercials annoying (I much prefer the gecko) and I am not in love with the idea of commercials as launching pad for TV shows. The one exception, of course, being the Folgers coffee one with the cute neighbor… Remember?

    The gecko is one cool guy. No that caveman show, falls in the ‘Cop Rock’ Category…if you remember that bomb. IMHO, ABC’s first-fall-failure. Giving it one month is generous.

    Who can forget the “Folgers neighbor” That commercial series should have gotten an Emmy!

    I’m from the wrong country, so the Folgers’ ad means nothing to me. But agree that this series is unlikely to succeed, given US TVs inability to let anything build in popularity. Where would The Office be if the UK did that?
