Fiat Panda Racer
NMA, a UK weekly, writes about a new online game from Inbox Digital in support of the Fiat Panda. Fiat Panda Racer is your typical car racing game, which, of course, means I’m very, very bad at it and failed completely at it - I crashed so badly that I could not move the car. But I had fun doing so. I’d bring you a picture but as it does not run on a Mac, which really surprised me, it’s not worth grabbing it from the other machine ;) (But you can see one on the Viral Blog)
Back to the NMA though, which stands for New Media Age, I wonder what on earth they are thinking of when they consistently provide articles about web sites without providing links. I’ve seen it enough times on their site to know it appears to be a house style. They seem to publish web articles in line with their weekly hard copy publishing, so can often be talking about something before it actually launches, but they should still add links where they can, adding them later if the site is not live.
Which brings me to one aside about the one, and only, time I ended up doing some coding for a commercial website. Pr had been doing their thing and got a great right up of a site that we were going to be launching (it was either for Guinness or Smirnoff). Unfortunately it got published about a week before we were ready to go live. Cue frantic scrambling to set up a holding page with a come back later message. No agency people around, no tech developers around, just me and the tech manager pulling together a very simple html page with a picture and a message. Then a few meetings inthe next few days about making sure PR or anyone else would tell us when they were going to publicise URLS.
