Christmas games from Joker’s Masquerade, Kwik-fit and Kodak
From Joker’s Masquerade, (sound warning) an online fancy dress company comes one of those flash games that I’m terrible at but many people seem to have fun with. Deliver the costumes to the houses, avoiding the evil darts of Jack Flash while you are at it. I was lucky to score over a 100, continually losing all my lives. As well as the game involving costumes, they are providing a call to action each time you die, suggesting that you can get all the costumes delivered from the store.
Kwik-Fit Insurance bring you the chance to Pimp your Sleigh, (sound again) designing your own version and adding it to the gallery and sharing it with friends and random viewers. Not as much direct toe back to the brand with this one. There’s also a racing game provided (on this I at least got past the first round!) with prizes including an elusive Wii. The draw takes places on Christmas day - I wonder what poor junior the sweeps agency has got to do that! Here’s my attempt at pimping. Can you make a better one?
Kodak has the last game of this post, a Trolley dash (even more sound!) with the chance to get money off vouchers or win cameras. There are three rounds to the game, each one you have a list of items to grab off the shelves. Out of the three, this game is most tightly tied to the brand, as each item is a real product, with the price attached, so you get a chance to see the range of items that Kodak produce, this is something that is often forgotten and I do like the way they have done it here. The money-off vouchers and the chance to win a camera keep you playing.
Unfortunately, the interface is pretty clunky, I got quite frustrated as the screen/cursor would not move, or carried on moving when I needed it to stop. Nicely realised items and design, but it does not respond well. An even bigger issue to me is the automatic opt-in to emails from the company if I want to enter the prize draw. They nicely say I can opt-out by following a link on the emails they send to me, but taking away my option from the start makes me think the Kodak would not respect me as a customer, so puts up a barrier to me buying goods from them. (added: the first email they end me with the voucher does not give an opt-out opportunity)
