Cadbury’s Truck Ad

The new ad for Cadbury’s from Fallon goes live on TV tonight, but is on the web already on the Cadbury’s site, who seem to forget that people want to embed the video and don’t allow you to do that. So it’s been ripped to YouTube.

This reminds me of the kind of thing that you would get on Top Gear and I keep expecting Jeremy Clarkson to chime in with commentary - or to see a mix of that in the near future. I like the ad but feel there’s no conclusion to it, no big finish; there’s a good comment thread over at Scamp’s. The team have been building buzz around this ad within the advertising blogs and the press, teasing the ad as though it is an event in its own right, a lot of hype, which rarely translates into reality as expectations mean that it will never be good enough to match the previous attempt. The good ones sneak up on you!
