Advertising Week Slogans and Icons

Got a favourite brand slogan? As part of Advertising Week, they are looking for 2 favourite slogans and icons to add to the Advertising Walk of Fame on Madison Avenue. They’ve teamed up with Yahoo and USA Today for promotion and voting. My agency has a slogan in the running, for the US Marines “The Few. The Proud. The Marines”. Then again Nike’s “Just Do it” is also up for voting.

I found it interesting that whilst I recognised almost all of the slogans, I have little recognition of the icons. I’m wondering if that is because of a larger global use of the words over the images or because of a switch to aural input only when the commercials come on as I go and do something else?

Any favourites slogans? For me, I’ve got 2 that stick in the head “For mash, get Smash” (always mentally intoned with the tune) and “Beanz Meanz Heinz.”

    I’ve always liked BMW’s Ultimate Driving Machine slogan. Just very appropiate for a brand like BMW.
