22Squared
I got a Press Release sent through about a study that 22Squared had done:
Based on simple rules of friendship derived from social psychology, 22 Squared created a research method that quantifies the strength, stage and type of friendships between brands and individuals. 22 Squared mapped 25,000 brand relationships across 128 recognized brands.
Not much else to say about the study, as there is little meaty info in the release, just high level stuff. Ont he website, I immediately wanted to reference David’s post on Ad Agency Web sites, calling them Digital Masturbation. I was trying to find out what the company does a little more than the boiler plate addendum to the release and wanting to talk to be instead of having it written down. A flash website with little information that is accessible. I can’t find more information about the study and methodology easily, I can’t find out what the company does easily and all I’m left with a frustration and annoyance. If 22Squared is a friend, it’s a friend that wants you to really prove you like them.

Rachel,
You’re absolutely right.
We’ve got the model and people should be able to understand it at a deeper level.
We are working now to add it to the site–to at least take the theoretical down to the practical for some brand examples.
In the past, agencies have been so secretive and proprietary and we’re fighting all the normal instincts, realizing it’s a different ballgame now, with a far more open environment needed to incite the necessary discussion in the marketing of brands…so, we’ll be getting it up very soon. Will send it to you once we do–let me know your thoughts. ke

Karen,
thanks for this. Looking forward to seeing the new content and seeing a bit more about the model and what you do. I tend to follow the Seth Godin philosophy, about getting ideas out there - the value is in the use of them.
